CUMBERLAND ARMS HOTEL

The obviously much-loved Cumberland Arms Hotel in Waymouth Street has some fine datail, and carries a blue information plaque. Inside, there is a wonderful original staircase.


This hotel sits on the southern side of Waymouth Street, just west of Light Square. It was established in 1846 as the Crown & Anchor Hotel.

In 1853 it became Cumberland House, before being rebuilt in 1884 after which it was renamed the Cumberland Arms in 1892.

It is National Trust listed.
