DUKE OF YORK HOTEL

82 Currie St

The Family Hotel in Hindley Street was established in 1857. It later became the Duke of York, and now this has been shortened to The Duke. Some stained glass is a reminder of older times.

Established in 1857 as the Family Hotel, then Ewat’s Family and in 1901 the Duke of York Hotel. These days, this has been abbreviated to The Duke. The hotel has a National Trust listing.

The Duke appears to have a very active current program, but I could find little information about its past.
