VioletBank

VIOLET BANK
246 – 250 Melbourne Street (access by New Street)

This old house was probably built by Henry Jessop, plasterer, in 1854. The unusual name may have come from a similarly named residence in Edinburgh, which perhaps had a bank of violets! The window surrounds have a simple but characteristic design.
