DOWNER HOUSE |
||||||||||||||||||
Erected in 1876 – 1877, this fine building was the residence of Sir John Downer. Some nterior ceilings have been preserved, and a photograph and plaque commemorating the formulation of the Australian Constitution are displayed. At the back of the property an original stable stands, now a chapel for St Mark’s College, the present owners. The chapel has some attractive windows installed (Window I, Window II, Window III) – some later history. |
