MARY SEYMOUR HOUSE
93 Tynte Street

This large and impressive house was built in around 1881. Its name appears in raised letters at the base of the first floor railings. There are some nice ornamental touches in the building. The house has recently been known as ‘Mary Seymour Hostel’, leading one to ask why the given name is ‘Mary Seymour House’, and just who Mary Seymour was.
