6. SAILMAKER’S BUILDINGS
117 Lipson Street

SailmakerBuilding

These buildings were built in 1864 and were part of Henry Weman’s sail making business.

The shop in Lipson Street is virtually unchanged since the 1880s and has colonial bond brick work with a second story made of corrugated iron.

If we move around the side of the shop and walk a little way down Jane Street, we find a separate but connected back building, described as a sail loft and warehouse.
