This was the first large guest house, built by Christina and Paul Baaner in 1876. It was originally called ‘Gertymore’ and later renamed ‘The Strathmore’. After extensive renovations in 1999, it became a modern motel.

It now features a smart smuggler sign. From the rear we see some fascinating building connections! Down the street a little way there is an historic plaque.
