4. HOTEL CROWN
Corner of Ocean Street and Railway Terrace

The Hotel Crown was built on the present site in 1864 and licensed the following year to serve the rapidly growing town.

In 1920 the original building was extended, and in the 1980s the interior of the hotel was gutted and refurbished as a Hotel / Convention Centre.

The hotel faces on to Warland Reserve where there is an historic plaque.
