This site takes its inspiration from a number of single page features which appeared in The Australian Mathematics Teacher over the period 1993–1995. The idea is to consider a number of common objects from everyday life, and to investigate the mathematics associated with them. This brings together some nice mathematical ideas suitable for schools.

For me personally this site has another purpose. The software used here is Adobe’s GoLive. One of my reasons for constructing this site is to see to what extent this software can be used to produce an interesting and interactive educational site. I would be interested in receiving readers’ comments, suggestions, and perhaps even encouragement on this.
