Christchurch Cathedral was largely destroyed by a severe earthquake in 2011, and an after-shock in 2012 destroyed the West rose window (shown at right above). A transitional Cathedral has been built since, and the new triangular glass West window has been designed to show traces of the original rose window. The transitional (‘tent’) Cathedral is shown below.
