In 1956 Gordon and Joyce built a house in Woodville South. This lies near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and son Craig was born there. In time Gordon and Joyce became Life Guardians of the Hospital Research Foundation. Gordon was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January 2009; the treatment was successful.
