Misc. Notes
John Henry was the oldest son of Henry JAMES and Cath ELLIS. His parents had only arrived in Adelaide one month before his birth. They came out from London on the Prince Regent on 18 Nov, 1852. His father died when John Henry was only 4 years old, leaving a very young family: John Henry, Janet aged 2 years, and Montague Thomas, aged just 5 months. John Henry later lived at Brompton. He married Mary HILLIER in 1873 and after 1877 moved back to SAS and lived at Kapunda. They had 5 children. Two years after Mary's death he married Louisa FLEMING in 1905. He and Louisa were actively involved in the Grange Methodist church, and on 18 Sep he laid the foundation stone of the Church hall. Verna Beryl was John and Louisa's only child.
