Misc. Notes
Born Kingsbrompton, [according to the 1891 Census, born Treborough; according to the 1871 Census born Luxborough], moved to Rotherhithe, Lomdon ca 1850. William and Esther appear separately in the 1851 Census in London; William was living in lodgings and working as a labourer. He became a policeman in the couple of months before they married in 1851. In 1853 family lived at 1 Brick Lane, St Lukes. [William Abel SCOTT birth certificate.] The family continued to live in London, at least until 1866. By 1871 William’s occupation was listed as a ‘Roadsman’. At this time William and Esther were living in ‘The Poor House’, Withiel Florey, near Kingsbrompton. (It is possible that by this date, this residence had reverted to being an ordinary house.)
Probably lived in Stonehouse 1880. By 1891 William and Esther were living at Old Cleeve, Washford. Details: William 69, Police Pensioner, b Treborough; Esther 62, b Kingsbrompton.
