Irene was born in 1896, the second (surviving) child of Walter WOOD and Mary Ann WEEKS. She married Cecil ACKLAND, apparently a Marine stationed at Plymouth. Irene was admitted to a mental hospital in Plymouth on 8th April 1935, and remained there until her death on 27th September 1947, when she died of pulmonary TB. Her death certificate shows her as divorced, and of occupation domestic help.
