William BRANSON of Leighton Bromswold, Huntingdonshire married Susanna DAY on 11 Oct 1792 at Leighton Bromswold. They had seven children. The last of these was James BRANSON, born 12 Feb 1797 in Leighton Bromswold, and died 5 Apr 1872 in Greenock, South Australia. He married Sarah HANKINS on 7 Jan 1882 at Old Weston. Sarah HANKINS was born 10 Dec 1800 in Old Weston and died 13 Mar 1892 in Greenock, SA. James and Sarah had eight children, the seventh of whom (and the second Jeremiah) was Jeremiah, born in 1837. James, Sarah and Jeremiah arrived in South Australia on 20 Sep 1858 aboard “Frenchman” from Liverpool.
Also of interest (but incidental to this family tree!): The third son of James and Sarah was James, born 10 Nov 1827 in Titchmarsh, died 3 Jun 1906 in Greenock, SA. He married Elisa GOSS, born 14 Sep 1824, died 27 Dec 1897 in Greenock, SA. Their first son was William, born 13 Aug 1850 in Greenock, died 3 Jun 1887 in Stockport. On 19 Sep 1877 he married Sarah Ann STRIBLING, born 26 Nov 1851 9n Morphett Vale, died 14 Aug 1929, buried in Stockport. William and Sarah had four children, the last of which was William George BRANSON, born 18 May 1886 in Tarlee, died 6 Sep 1970 in Adelaide. He married Maude Elizabeth Windsor on 12 Mar 1912 at Tarlee. She was born 24 ul 1886 and died 21 Jun 1970 in Adelaide. Their first child was Colin William BRANSON, born 26 Jun 1913 in Riverton, died 20 Dec 2006 in Adelaide. Colin married Gwen Hilma PEEK on 7 Jan 1939 at Knightsbridge. Gwen was born 12 Jul 1915 in Adelaide. They had five children: Judith Gwen (THREDGOLD), Pamela Ruth (BUTTERY), Margaret Claire (RIDLEY) born 25 Oct 1942, Bryan David born 13 Nov 1950, and Helen Faye (HILL). Rod and Margaret's children are Suzanne Michelle (DANZIG) born 1 Mar 1970, Dianne Marie born 13 Sep 1971, Michael Craig born 19 Sep 1974, all at Burnside. On 8 Jan 1972 at Leabrook, Bryan married Robyn Joy KEENE born 4 Nov 1951 in Ivanhoe, Victoria. They had two sons: Mark David born 10 Dec 1976 at Blackwood, and Peter Andrew born 24 Feb 1980 in Campbelltown.
