This is really a single walk with a number of variations. All the walks begin at, and return to, the Wattle Park shops where there is easy parking.
From here, walk east up Kensington Road, a steep climb to reach the lookout. Even on this walk you may see some wild life, like this sleepy fellow just by the road:
The lookout gives good views of the Stonyfell Quarry, and across the plains to the city.
From behind the lookout there is a short, easy, grassy (and surprisingly) east – west track which links to McBeath Drive in Skye. There are spectacular views over the plains from this track. It always gives me a thrill, walking this stretch. Behind is Gandy’s Gully.
Here is a view of the ridge from below.
Continuing on from the gate at the end of McBeath Drive there are a number of possible ways to return.
