NATIONAL BANK / OXFORD HOTEL
101 – 109 O'Connell Street

In the 1880s the Oxford Hotel and the National Bankbuildings were erected side by side in O'Connell Street. Although designed by different architects, it is clear that they collaborated to produce sympathetic buildings with identical elaborate detailing. The Hotel has a prominent sign over a decorated front entry and inside there is an old staircase. Adjacent is the Bank with attractive linear and column decorations. Looking carefully, we discover a wonderful chimney!
