The Royal Arms Hotel opened in June 1878, and had many fine features including a Ladies’ Waiting Room. This old entry door recalls some of this past grandeur.

There are stories of a tunnel starting beneath the Hotel, connecting to the Port Dock Brewery Hotel and the waterfront. Old smugglers’ tales!!
