27. ROAD SIGNS A regular polygon is a polygon which has all its sides equal, and all its angles equal. Road signs make a good starting point for the study of polygons. There are triangles, squares, octagons, as well as various rectangles. Are the octagons in fact regular? Are the ‘diamond’ signs like the two shown here actually square? It makes an interesting project to assemble a collection of photographs of the various signs in your locality.
