Death: Headstone; Truro Cemetery records
May have been named after Robert's wife : Mary Ann (MILLER). Arrived in SA with parents FEB 1840 on ship 'John' after a 6 month voyage, making her a ‘Pioneer of South Australia’. Lived at Golden Grove before marrying at residence of Mrs DODGSON, then to 'Overlee' near Truro. Ardent worker in the local Congregational Church. Good conversationalist, with many memories of the early days in the State. From an early age the spelling of her name seems to have changed to Mary Ann DODSON: the given spelling is from shipping records, and seems to check with all known information. At the end, she was living with her daughter Marion of 'Belmont' Caltowie. Buried in Truro Cemetery with husband; small obelisk on an angle! [Shipping records, newspaper clippings, Truro visit]
