When Angus first swa the sea, he ran fully clothed into it. Ang and Len met regularly in theri later years and worked on inventions. They together invented the lining machine which was used by Holdens. They were in the process of developing a hair clipper and a refillable pencil when Len died. Angus ran his own hair dressing business 'White & Watson' in Grenfell St opposite the Mail Exchange for nearly 30 years. He then moved to Gaye's Arcade where he remained until his leg was amputated and was forced to retire. Angus had a vein bypass operation on his leg which failed; he got gangrene in the leg, which was consequently amputated. He was a chronic asthmatic and died of an anurism.
