Arrived SA in 1865 on 'Pembrokeshire'. From boyhood, [presumably after the death of his mother] John lived with his Uncle and Aunt, Robert and Sarah Brown, until he married Mary McKinnon. John moved from Yankalilla to Delamere in 1887 to work on 'Yoho Station', estate of William Gerard and managed by James Lord. The family lived in the station homestead intil 1896, when they moved nearer to Delamere, where six more children were born, educated at Delamere School, christened and confirmed at St KJames Church and attended Sunday School where Thomas Lord was the superintendant for many years. John continued working at Yoho and became manager until 1922 when he moved to Mt Alma station, Inman Valley. He died suddenly in 1924.['To find the way' – RF Williams; CANT Family History.]
