Wife died in England. Left England 27 Jun 1864, arrived SA on Pembrokeshire in 1865. Went on land at Mount Pleasant. Lived in Second Valley, Normanville. Thomas's in laws, Robert and Sarah BROWN lost their only child Sarah Elizabeth when she was 21, and this caused the Brown's to write to Thomas suggesting he join them in Normanville.
