Arrived SA in 1865 with his father Thomas CANT from Kimbolton, England on 'Pembrokeshire'. After Jane and Charles married, they lived in Second Valley where Charles owned a farming property. All of their children were born at Second Valley. Their son George managed their property at Hamley Bridge. Later Charles moved his family to Hamley Bridge, and George returned to the home property at Second Valley. Jane and Charles remained at Hamley Bridge to the end of their lives.
