Birth, Marriage : GOBELL Family History.

Married at Holy Trinity, Adelaide. James & Frances lived in Adelaide when they were first married. When their second child Priscilla was born in 1847 they lived in Gouger St, Adelaide. James was a shoe and boot maker. They movedto McLaren Vale before their third child George was born. Their fourth child James was also born at McLaren Vale. On 1 Jun 1853 in conjunction with George WILLISS, James leased 80 acres of farming land near Rapid Bay. Both men finally bought their properties for a total sum of £844 sterling. James' property was named Stansled Farm, Bullapringa, near Rapid Bay. They lived in a stone house in the gully near the creek. Crumbling remains of the chimney and walls can still be seen.
