Misc. Notes
In 1901 Lottie was working as a domestic in a Private Girls’ School in Minehead. At some stage she moved to Western-Super-Mer, Somerset, where she worked 'in service' as a domestic. It was there she met Welsh miner William John MORSE, visiting the town on a day trip. Lottie married William and they had three children: Audrey (who died aged 4), William Ernest (Ern), born 2nd March 1919 in Bedwellty, Wales, and Kenneth Henry Scott, born 29th March 1922 in Bedwellty or Cwm, Wales. They were a happy family, although Lottie was the boss! She dealt out punishment, but in a fair way. Family life began in the coalmining district of Cwm in Wales. The work was hard, and the family while not rich, was comfortably well off. They lived in a 3 bedroom terrace house. The mine had two pits, and there was a lot of shift work. After the death of Lottie's father, William Abel SCOTT in 1927, William and Lottie and the boys went to live with Mary SCOTT at Ivy Cottage in Bilbrook. William took a position as a weigh-bridge clerk for the Gas Company. In many ways Lottie was like her mother - strict and cantankerous! William died in 1944, and Lottie lived until 19th May 1971, when she died in Croft House, Williton, Somerset. Lottie is buried iwith William in the Minehead cemetery. [Ern MORSE]
