FatherJames ASH (1831-1882)
Misc. Notes
Sarah pronounced her name Seraah, probably because she married a sailor named SARAH. They lived in a bungalow out of Plymouth. Sarah had a reputation for being "hoity-toity", but was not really like that. They had no children. [Ern MORSE] There is mention of Sarah in a report by the Salcombe Times as being the first child from Hope Cove to be admitted to the school at Galmpton (became Bell Hatch) which opened in 1868 after the closure of the church school in St Clement. She was then just three years and four months old.
