Thomas was the second son of the Robert Dodgson and Mary Bulman his Wife. Born at Roanstrees was Baptised according to the Bewcastle Register of Baptisms April the 19th 1772. He married in or about the year 1791 Mary Wilson [L] Daughter of Peter Wilson of Stoneknowe formerly of Moat Kirkandrews on Esk, and Ann or Nanny Underwood his Wife the Daughter of Thomas Underwood formerly of Peterscrook in the said parish of Kirkandrews on Esk. Mary Wilson the Wife of Thomas Dodgson was born in or about 1775 and Died of Consumption at Cleughside parish of Bewcastle as by Tombstone at Stapleton December the 4th 1815 Aged 40 years. About the time of the Marriage of Thomas Dodgson with Mary Wilson in consequence of some arrangements between the Families. Peter Wilson her father sold the Estate of Cleughside where he had previously resided to Thomas Dodgson his Son in Law for about £750.
The above named Thomas Dodgson had by his Wife Mary Wilson Ten Children Six Sons and Four Daughters Namely: Mary, Thomas, Robert, Ann or Nanny, Jane, Peter, John, Henry, Margaret and William. [DODGSON Family History (web)]
