Mary the Daughter of Robert Dodgson of Roanstrees and Mary Bulman his Wife was Born at Roanstrees on or about December the 17th 1780 and died at Longtown (of Water in the head) as appears by the Family Tombstone at Stapleton, March the 10th 1823 aged 42 years.
Mary Dodgson married in or about 1802 the Revd John Wright a Native of North Britain and Presbyterian Dissenting Minister at Knowe, Bewcastle. (Married. The 24th ult. the Rev. John Wright, dissenting minister at Bewcastle , to Miss Dodgson of Roanstrees. [N/C Courant . 9. Jan., 1802]) she had a son by him named John who was born on or about the 1st of April 1803 at Longtown and about six weeks after John's Birth in consequence of the ill treatment of her Husband Mr Wright the Marriage was dissolved by mutual consent. Afterwards the above named Mary Dodgson otherwise Mary Wright resided with her father Robert Dodgson at Longtown and followed the Milliner or Dressmaking business up to the time of her decease. Her son John Wright was a Druggist with a Mr Randleson at Whitehaven Cumberland he Died there of Typhus Fever (by Tombstone at Stapleton) January the 19th 1819 aged 15 years, and was Interred at Whitehaven where a Tombstone is erected to his memory.
