Arthur was known as A.B. He became a builder, and with his two sons, Leonard and Ronald formed one of the principle building firms in Napier. Apart from Len and Ron, he had an adopted daughter Betty. When his first wife Annie (FAULKNOR) became an invalid, he installed alift in his two-storied home. His second wife Amy was at first his housekeeper. He was a diabetic and died aged 85.
