Belair National Park has important natural, cultural, historical and recreational values and is the birthplace of the national park system in South Australia. The park was dedicated in 1891, making it the first national park in South Australia. It is located in Mitcham, and is largely bounded by Sheaok Road and the Upper Sturt Road.

The Park measures approximately 9 km by 5.5 km. There is a hefty entry fee for vehicles ($8.50 per car in 2010), so many walkers will prefer to begin their walks at the boundary!

There are many tracks in this Park, including a number of designated walking trails. As I explore the Park, I find that I am making my own trails, assembling together portions of various other tracks. You will be able to do this too.
