William Elliot was Yeoman of Baileyhead (the Paternal Estate) and afterwards became owner of Little Baileyhead – Stoneknow and Butterhill – all in the Parish of Bewcastle. William, the husband of Mary Dodgson and Eldest son of John Elliot of Baileyhead or Low Baileyhead and Mary Graham his Wife was Born at Baileyhead parish of Bewcastle on or about July the 18th 1788.
