In the 1881 Census John was 10 and a scholar, by 1891 he was a Commercial Clerk living at home with his parents. By 1901 he was still at home working as a commercial traveller aged 30.
John married at 44 he was a cashier, living at 23 Danes Drive, Helen lived at 69 Danes Drive she was 33. Witnesses were Arthur Watson and Jeanie Black Miller. Signed Alexander Cruickshank Minister of Scotstoun June 7 1915.
John died at 76 years at the Western Infirmary, having lived with his wife at 31 Ormiston Ave, Glasgow. Cause of death was pernicious aneamia of 2 years & 6 months, gastrtic carcinoma subacute combined degeneration of spinal cord and purulent bronchitis. Certified by E.T. Hill MB. Informant Charles Watson son of 2 Callart Road, Kinlochleven.
