Birth, Marriage: Certificate.
When Thelma married and took her mother's maiden name, it was quite by coincidence. Thelma lived her life for others. Initially it was for her family, and mother (Nanny) who lived with her. She was a naturally busy lady, always doing something: cleaning, washing the car, or cooking up tins of tasty treats. Her life was also the church, where she was always part of the catering team, and very involved in visiting the sick and needy. She had a very strong prayer life. In Wellington she attended the local Methodist Church at Worser Bay. Later in Gisborne, her Baptist connection started at the nearby Te Hapara church. Thelma was a great encourager, and many people sought her out for advice. When Paul left home for University, and later overseas, she never missed writing her weekly letter of support and encouragement. She kept up this sort of correspondence with many others as well. [Paul Scott]
Paul has several pages of Thelma and Bid GRANT's reminiscences of various family members.
