After a short time spent in Adelaide, the eldest daughter Alice married Cain Jeliff. In the 1860s Alice and Cain Jeliff, along with Caroline and her husband John Cakebread, briefly tried their luck on the goldfields. Alice, one day in the Blue Mountains, shared her lunch with a pleasant gentleman whom she afterwards discovered was the bushranger, Captain Moonlight. [Settlers around the Bay - Laube]
